Every Day We Fight Weapon Attachments Guide: Mod Slots, Stats, and Crafting

Weapon attachments in Every Day We Fight modify specific firearms across four slots to adjust action point costs, zoom, overwatch cones, and combat perks. Equipping discovered parts or crafting them with scrap customizes your squad loadout for every combat encounter.

Attachment Slots and Gun Compatibility

Customizing resistance firearms requires fitting modifications directly to compatible weapons on the inventory screen. Standard firearms support up to four distinct attachment slots: scopes, muzzles, magazines, and stocks. Attachments are tied to specific weapons rather than squad members. For instance, a Stingray magazine only fits the Stingray sidearm, and a Rattler magazine only applies to the Rattler shotgun. Parts for weapons not currently carried by the squad stay in the stash until that gun is obtained.

Alien weaponry dropped by Rifters operates under entirely different rules. Firearms dropped by enemies, such as the Mangler rifle, Thrasher shotgun, or Sentinel energy blasters, arrive with preset attributes and cannot be modified with standard attachments. These Rifter guns cannot be reloaded once depleted, functioning as powerful single-magazine pickups rather than moddable long-term gear. To field a fully modified loadout, players must rely on the resistance arsenal of conventional weapons.

How Stat Trade-offs and AP Costs Function

Attachments in Every Day We Fight are designed around explicit mechanical trade-offs rather than pure statistical upgrades. Modifying an optic or barrel affects action point expenditure during combat rounds. For example, fitting a heavy Terragonian muzzle may reduce reticle bloom and expand maximum damage range, but it can increase the action point cost of the initial shot by one AP. Conversely, specific rare variants reduce continued shot costs on automatic weapons while slightly adjusting weapon handling.

Optics directly modify precision targeting and defensive positioning. Equipping a scope alters the magnification level while holding breath during manual aiming, but it also recalculates the width of your overwatch coverage. A wider overwatch cone allows characters like Leopold to cover broader choke points, though certain attachments demand additional AP to set that defensive stance upfront. Because up to five unspent action points carry over to subsequent turns, balancing weapon AP costs against positioning needs determines turn efficiency.

Attachment Rarity Tiers and Epic Mod Perks

Weapon modifications fall into three primary rarity tiers: Common, Rare, and Epic. Common attachments deliver baseline statistical shifts, expanding magazine sizes by set bullet counts or shaving recoil percentages off assault rifles like the Hailstorm. Rare attachments introduce elemental and tactile status afflictions. Installing a rare muzzle or magazine can apply burn over time, inflict bleeding, or immobilize advancing melee Strikers before they close the distance to your squad.

Epic attachments feature dedicated combat perks that trigger after specific battlefield milestones. For example, the Death Dealer scope grants a free ability activation immediately after scoring a kill with that firearm. The Shield Buster stock makes the next throwable item free after shattering an enemy energy shield, while the Armor Breaker stock grants a free punch action upon breaking enemy armor plating. Firearms indicate primed epic perks by changing color in the lower interface, and only one epic mod perk can be active on a weapon simultaneously. These triggers link smoothly with squad reflex actions like Vivian's kill assist or Dylan's close-range melee strikes.

Discovering and Crafting Attachments with Scrap

Expanding the squad's modification pool requires scouring the city during exploration phases. Finding an attachment in the field or pulling one from an end-of-combat rift chest automatically registers that item into the global loot table. Once discovered, the part permanently joins the random drop pool for future runs in the standard campaign and within Forever War mode.

Field workbenches located inside Thorn Stashes allow players to fabricate any discovered attachment using collected scrap:

  1. Locate scrap caches throughout urban districts, which yield salvage ranging from small piles of 10 to 40 scrap up to large stashes offering 100 to 150 scrap.
  2. Access a safehouse workbench to view all discovered weapon recipes.
  3. Queue up to three items simultaneously, choosing between consumable explosives, medical bandages, or gun attachments.
  4. Convert unwanted modifications directly into scrap salvage at the workbench to fund priority weapon components.

Synergizing crafted modifications with nodes from the skills guide allows squads to build specialized combat roles, balancing raw firepower against action point economy.
